Annual Lakewood Halloween Party, Hayride & Trunk-or-Treat!
It’s that time again! A big thank-you to Stephanie Chancellor for volunteering to organize this fun neighborhood tradition. Each year, it gives our kids a safe place to trick-or-treat while bringing neighbors together. Kids, teens, and adults are all welcome—costumes encouraged!

Set up a balloon stake in front of your home and hand out candy to the kids as the hayride passes.
Balloon Stakes

3:45 PM – Meet at the Pavilion
Enjoy snacks and visit with neighbors before we head out for the hayride at 5:00 PM.
We need volunteers to help with the party, hayride, and trunk-or-treat, including:
- 6 trucks, 6 drivers, and 6 trailers
- About 3 people to help load and return hay at Barrel House
- Snacks and drinks for the pre-hayride party
Option 1: Hayride Stops
Set up a balloon stake in front of your home and hand out candy to the kids as the hayride passes.
Option 2: Trunk-or-Treat
Bring your vehicle to the recreation area, decorate your trunk, and pass out candy there.
Bring your vehicle to the recreation area, decorate your trunk, and pass out candy there.
Having both options allows everyone to participate! Since the hayride only travels through the Lakewood Estates side, trailers carrying children cannot safely travel on FM 1283 to reach the Lakewood Park side. Park residents can participate by bringing their cars to the recreation area for trunk-or-treat!
Balloon stakes for homes participating in the hayride will be available at the annual HOA meeting. After the meeting, they will be placed near the mailboxes for pickup.
Please only take a balloon stake if you plan to hand out candy at your home. The stakes help hayride drivers identify which homes are participating.
